Functional Integration hands-on Feldenkrais

Feldenkrais Hands-on Sessions improve back pain and help you move better

Functional Integration is a hands-on approach that supports your nervous system to make better choices-- choices that lead to less pain, more efficiency, mobility and stability.

We work with movement, awareness and touch to improve the healthy functioning of the nervous system.

What is a hands-on Feldenkrais session like?

Hands on Feldenkrais method lessons improve chronic pain, back pain and increase life force

When you arrive we will talk through anything you've been curious about in your body and/or life. We will explore some simple movements and then I will invite you to lie down on a table similar to a massage table. The table is more firm so that it can replicate the support and feedback of the floor.

I practice listening to your movements and being through touch. We use the wisdom of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement Lessons, and specialize the lesson for you. I notice different movement patterns and work with your nervous system to improve. I will move you gently, and also invite you to do movements throughout our time. We will learn together. The process supports your nervous system to better organize your movements, thoughts, feelings and actions.

What is inspiring about hands-on Feldenkrais?

I love how this work combines deep, sensitive, embodied listening with the concrete application of learning to move better. It's deep and practical.

I came to Feldenkrais as a dancer, and I was obsessed with learning to dance from an internal perspective--feeling my movements from the inside was endlessly engaging.

When I found Feldenkrais, it satisfied the part of me that desired to know myself better. It also magically made me feel transformed without much effort. When I had my first Functional Integration Lesson, I was blown away at how differently I felt after 45 minutes. Like my patterns could really change? Change is possible?! It's gentle and potent work.

In the Functional Integration mindset, the practitioner is not there to change or fix you. The practitioner is there to support you to become more of yourself.
