Making intentions together is powerful!
Busyness and technology are addictive, I’m calling in need structure, mutual support and intention to slow down.
This week is designed to help you make realistic goals, something that is attainable and can make a small difference in the week.
Let’s start small, and see what happens!
This week emerged from a desire to be more present in my life, particularly in relationship with checking my cell phone. I notice how I’ve become progressively more and more reliant on my phone and I end up filling the quiet moments of my day. I find myself picking it up to read while I eat, or sending messages while I walk. To counter the dopamine hit that I get from checking my phone, I need conscious intention.
This week creates a container of mutual support for anyone who would like to bring intention to your phone use and presence in day-to-day life.
Some of you may be reading this and realizing you don’t have this same phone addiction, and that’s wonderful! You can still participate in A Week of More Presence by setting other kinds of intentions and attending classes.

Ideas of More Presence for Your Week:
Bringing Presence into regular life - Approaching work and social interactions with more presence:
Feeling your breath
Tuning into sensations
Noticing impulses before acting
Taking breaks to check-in with yourself
Your ideas
Monotasking - Doing one thing at a time without looking at a screen, or listening to anything:
Eating Meals
Going for Walks
Siting and Meditating
Moving Your Body
Writing
Your ideas
Managing Screen Time:
Limit screen time for total time in a day or for particular apps
Don’t sleep with your phone in your room, do something else before looking at your phone in the morning
Set time constrictions on screen time for example: No screen time after 10pm or before 9am
You decide which ways you’d like to bring more presence into your week and set your own intention. Make a realistic intention that you can really do. Simple is good!
Some example intentions:
I’ll eat three breakfasts without multitasking this week
I’ll set an alarm once a day to take a break and check-in with how I’m feeling
I’ll attend 2 free classes and go for one walk without multitasking this week
